During the years 1999 - 2006 Meadows End wrote and recorded 12 concept songs that ended up on various demos and EPs, which all deserved better a destiny than to be forgotten. All these songs are now rerecorded and together they make SOJOURN, the third full length album from Meadows End.

Recorded by Meadows End in Studio Rex and various locations around Örnsköldsvik/Umeå, Sweden, during 2015.

Track Name: Amidst the Villains: In a time...
In a time where the cold rigid dark where still unbound.
A man of myth with stories yet untold broke upon the shore.
With tales of nightmare's reef and dawn no more.

Ages has passed since the dawn did not descend into this land of the unknown.
Faces has come, faces has gone.
But the truth remains unknown.
Herald of War, can it be stopped?
No one knows...
The people has been betrayed by the hands who they have fed

All the mortals sworn to serve upon the light.
At Ravenfields they meet to be unbound
They need a leader they can follow that will sway this holy War
But where's this chosen one to be found?

Search within yourself!
The wise man he had spoken of betray.
Among the mortals there were villains of deceit,
Assassins in the core, Of nightmare's reef and dawn no more

A scent of fortune fouled this war, their leader was bought by the dark.
Now light alone can't clear this path, with ill fate salvation's undone

As a mortal I shall serve upon the Light!
I shall walk Amidst The Villains through the night.
Yet again the dawn did not descend.
Track Name: Remnants: Many years has passed now, since the treason came before us.
People are suffering still, breathing fear.
And it comes from within, agony brings them to despair, seeks vengeance upon those who started the fall.

None speaks the treason, silence feasting on hearts so frail.
Families plundered, families slain.
Once lush and prospering, now desert meadows and vast land fields.
A war swiftly passed but the remnants were cursed...

Ignorance burn and plague rests, suffer engaged the reaper bow.
They bear, in fear, out here.
Death comes out of there!

A pale hooded figure stepped through the odour, simply walking away.
No more feeding from outstretched hands or promises.

This hooded creature were born to a slave, a circumstance he rejects.
Fathers and fathers of dead generations, all born the same...

Utter curses of pestering silence.
This son will not take it no more.
Mediating with inner turmoil.
What in hell is this conscience for?
Temptations are fed through the heart, screaming at peace, screaming out harshly of lure.
Was really this meaningless life meant for me?

A fire in his eyes as dark as disguise.
This son will not take it no more.
Reverence for fathers and time that has gone.
What in hell is this conscience for?
Leaving his family oathed to a blood feud for fathers and fathers of dead generations.
Imbued with will, setting his feet for the road...
Track Name: Nightmare's Reef: I set path towards the dreaded lands up north, destined to find the answers they hide.
Time goes by, and the blood from the Ravenfield is lost, the memories are not... feasting my mind.
Nothing alive can pause my adventurous blood.

Travelling far, far to the east.
Feeling the breeze from the sea.
Such unexplored lands. I was told by the seer that I will find my adventure here.

I stand upon an open road and that's the road I go.
That's the road for mercenaries.
And now I need to walk this road to pass the heathen gates.
Towards the heart of the Reef.

I am to make it through this armoured walkway, penalized already as I came.
By guarding eyes I stroll, I feel the pointing blades, lusting for their prey, watching every move I make.

Darkness falls.
Torches lighting up far ahead where a sentry stands clear.
Casts his glare upon me, reveals his view of life in dark atrocity.
A sudden change, an alteration in the wind, as the sentry now moves towards me.
Questions me for my intention so far east.
"Take me to thy master!", I plead.

"Before my lies "The Heathen Land", a land by villains marked... This... is the Nightmare's Reef!"

I stand upon an open road and that's the road I go.
And that's the road for mercenaries.
At last I came to walk this road to pass the heathen gates, to get to the Nightmare's Reef...
Now, he leads me towards my prey.

So by midnight the gates starts to show, on the horizon they grow...
Track Name: Heathens' Embrace: "I bid you welcome my heathen, to take your place within the Nightmare's Reef.
Be aware that you will now sell your soul and your face, for the heathens' embrace."

"Stay focused and clear... As the ravenous daggers of brethrens' own make, always ready to tear..."

How this voice grates upon my ears as a vision of a dark man appears.
Shades of sin covers this being but his face should be torchlit and clear.

Once outside this thief hearted fortress, now my casual abode.
The reverence is mine as the legends speak so, of the Reef as both cunning and cold.

Comes to me after months in this place, that a raid plan is made
This soveriegn of shadows determined to be the soul heir of every race

An heretic invasion, a madman's creation, prospers in soul eating blows.
Now his demon wings, made to embrace, swallowing all harvested souls.
Elders once again fear that the Ravenfield battles draw near
Nevermore the sun will lighten these fields if the time of prosperity flees.

Now my part of this play must be over, as I draw my sheathed blade.
And the fight, as he perceives my betrayal, bursts out into a dancing display.
Track Name: Soulslain: In consternation, a stunning clash of two ferocious minds
Demonic rage meets human grit, singing blades of battle scourges these lands.

An avid race so keen on believing, frailty in human form
A trustworthy loyal race buried in sins.
An alteration staged by the gods of this horn crowned fiend.
To abate and diminish this breed.

Soulslain!
Unreached, flourished dreams.
Slavechained!
Heritage repealed.
Soulslain!
Prosterity, soul withdrawn.
Slavechained!
Unprotected and fragile.

So in this fight I feel this sword troughout my spine, the seer was warning me...
I saw the end and bore the burden for the fall of this debauchery.
But how I found, in these foul shunned lands a blooded blade so darkgod made...
Worn by the dark, forged in hell, now aimed at me to stop my treachery

This heathen lord ended my call
And his craftmanship drained me of my weak soul
He released me, my anger set free
I watch as the darkness starts pulling me in
Track Name: Deadlands: So now our hero's fallen!
Sent to shades with a slaughtered soul
He don't know where he's gone and he has lost control.
A place for the burdened few stuck in endless limbo
Fruitless wait for call to liberation

All these mortal beings now mourning life on these fetid shores of this sardonic void
Once granted a mortal life, granted the gift of birth, now just a marble piece in a cold foundation

Screams trapped in mouths of men confine these lands.
They can't see, they can't hear, they can't speak
Still they roam here endlessly as the Fallens sheep

Inside these trepid halls, the Deadland counsil calls
And as every time before, the verdict echoes far

Give your soul up heir!
And face the embrace of nature.
Turn your back upon your gods!
Pure, his soul ablaze
Can't feel the foundation in thee!?
You bear the life... we seek!!

Deadlands!
A somber nation draped in shades!
Where slaughtered souls can wander free
Deadlands!

As his darkness leaves these somber fields...

So my friends, history leaves a mark in the books as the Counsil now have freed.
Embers shall fall, on the day the writings die, the son back from Deadlands stride

What is life?
Burning hungers to be heeded at any cost?
Does it differ, surface time from afterlife?
In his solemn mind he shelters for a haven as nature fails.
Needs a sane mind to lean against.
Being the first to realise how to pass the fallens twice.
Enter Deadlands' gates then back again...

Is this the end of fallens, which these worlds divide.

Black-angelic creatures, breed inside of open wounds.

Track Name: All of Them: In a peaceful dying, no throne waiting for thee in a peaceful dying.
Vigorous hearts for angered masks is common trade in the somber nation during faith in the season fall.
The season fall is a masquerade.
Hauls in the name of defeat.
Hauls in the name of the Fallens.
Greets my perfection at heart.
Smothered by earth's embrace, makes earth's embrace suite a death parade.

Life is gone and forever you will be marked without your soul.
Know that with every step you take you suffer forever.
In this grave for mortal souls, you'll forever delve in pain.

But order of worlds went awry, scorching the sky.
Conquering the nimbus so old.
Guardians of Somber Nation falls.
Pioneers of nature, those are the few.
Dead in the stories, those that we knew.
Order of worlds are in chaos.
As we breach walls.
All of them!

Leave this somber world behind in terror and pity
as the Fallens leave way for this bringer of war.
With growing wrath and angel wings.
A break of regulations profound.

All the remaining ghouls, screaming in terror and fear.
Fear of staying on these grounds.
Carved like in stone as he leaves them behind.
All of them!

An angel has spawned
Awaiting it's newborn dawn
As the savior who once died, again the answer for their cries.
Brought from the dead to become the bringer of war!
Brought from the dead as the...

...order of worlds went awry.
Scorching the sky.
Conquering the nimbus so old.
Opening the purgatory of gods.
When season is over and the masquerade in hell
no longer forces dead to their cells.
To rekindle a soul once anew, sending the heathens to their doom!

Track Name: Angel Dreams: And they were cursed!!

Passing my way through the realms yet again, now in a shape I don't know.
Using the pass for dead angels, I'm starting to feel on my own.
Surface in ruins I barely believe, once living, now turned into stone.
A shimmer of light barely seeps through, and they were cursed!

Form me a sense of what is real, my body, tormented, faltering.
All these scars I bear cannot heal.
My suffer in life, their dream
Starting to feel again.
But my senses grow fear, I'm not mortal yet here.

Greeting the elders, now council of vengeance, arming for war!
I take my blade and scour the fear, as we stride through the calm!

So serene life is viewed through your eyes when you're dead!
Once lushious and green, the waters they usually gleem from the sunfired sky.
Soulslain and scarred I rise from the hatred, as I'm back on the fields... Ravenfields!!

To once again witness the clash, as both evil and good interfere.
Marked by the hatred and led by the light.
Nature stopped breeding out here.
Scholars they fear that the life as we know it will cease.
As a chosen by the counsil of Deadlands
As an angel I guard all their dreams.

An angel leads the human band from the curse they are in, back into their native land
Ravenfields filled with mourning cries, dancing their way through the mist.

To pulsing drums and burning rage
Blades devours flesh and bone
Seek the heathen lord for remedy
But nowhere to be found is he

Our angel downing war bands alone and the battle seems to favour the light
And they press on for better or for worse, lifting the curse...
Track Name: Clench the Feet of Fools: Amidst dysmal storms rises a dead calm
I find myself in quiet contemplation and awe
A revenant appears a courier from the rings down below
He chuckles, then he bows

"I will tell you a tale now sojourner
of your forefather's wretched sin
To bask in the glory of our soverign,
he bartered with your own kin

He's a general commanding our legions now
Awaiting the seed in his lineage to sprout
Greetings, this is you

I sense a perfidy once again now immortal
, as we both know you don't belong
The Somber Nation were never meant as a stepping stone for dead souls

Benighted on the surface you dwell
Invite me to enlighten your path,
with the stars
Which brings me to your death!

Is this your call sojourner?
To rove this gloom, as salvager of humans to help them anew?
Their sorrow cause will consume you and derail your call
You're led astray, you're bound to sense this too!

You roamed into a dim world and you're lost to them all, into a system where you're out of control
Nature self requires rules to abide, you overstepped them once but now you can't hide
You won't fit in, dead seething, as you'll be stuck here half alive in this tomb
I offer your soul contingency to rebirth... Turn yourself to me!
As king... to Clench the Feet of Fools!"

"So revenant, you come to tell me, my life is all about to reign or devour?
By choosing death my soul might thrive, and the nether regions opens up wide?
To leave a seat for me to rule as your king, to rule the demon that once hauled my soul in?
Beside my forefather who started it all?
If that's what it takes then welcome me in my sleep... to die..."
Track Name: Forever Haven: A holler swept away their feet, an icy scream from the unknown
Angelwinged its majesty, unwavered to reincarnate its soul
Acts fill the tome of sins with prudence each day
But prudence slept this evenfall

Mankind, unite and assemble on the darkest of nights
their guardian descending, an angel falling down

The Deadlands council fall retreat
into their tombs, their arcane fortress sealing in
Dead souls that seek an entry to their afterlife are now in vain.
A mystery what death might bring

Now their haven laid in misery and no place to be
No.

The holler swept away their feet, an icy scream from the unknown
Angelwinged its majesty, unwavered to reincarnate its soul
Acts fill the tome of sins with prudence each day
But prudence slept this evenfall
An angel marked its tyranny by entering the fathomless
The mighty creature tore its veil

It found its home in the darkest of ways
into the dark and its foul enclave
In order to master the crown
The angel falling down

The Deadlands council fall retreat
into their tomb, their arcane fortress sealing in
Dead souls that seek an entry to their afterlife
are now in vain.
Forever haven no place for them.
Track Name: My Leading Command: Lying bare on an altar of stone, gazing out to behold
A sanctum covered in regalia and gowns, black lillies, candles and crowns
Before me enters a fiendish form, his presence infuses awe
His shade bears a reminiscent way, and the chills go down my spine

So many years since I departed my roots to stop residing in doom
and seek the vengeance for my feeble kin just to unearth my part in it too
It has braced my mortal powers, brought me an angel's wit
empowered by the council of Deadlands they summoned me to hell

I'm draped in my unhallowed gown to embark in this unhallowed land
This fiend is slowly examining me
"The angelic powers that embrace your aura, a prophet were you for them all"
He turns and indicates for me to pursue

As I shadow this astonishing creature my thoughts fumble in gloom
whereas my memories fail to emit they could split my heart in two
but I've been stripped of weak compassion. I've got no hold of time
How long have I been here, draped in this gown? With my reincarnated soul...

My past, all gone, before me lies my home

As I adapt to my surroundings I hear, "Greetings my heir, anew!"
As he turns I see a face and a brute that my memory has failed to undo
!!
Severely scarred from my belongings, from when he downed my soul...
"You, scion, descending my blood, about time the truth is told..."

"I bartered with darkness, and I betrayed our kin
Swore an oath for your leading command of our reign
For thousand years and thousand more we've longed for you my progeny
To crown you as emperor, as sovereign, as king
!"

Why? I'm sworn to oust all light? What in the nine hells have I now become?
I am the archangel brought from the light, to carry the command out, I'm a demon, a devil, a fiend...
Track Name: Everlasting - Bonus: When life gets by beyond the threshold of it's tide.
As we reveal enigmas and caress ourselves with pride.
The answers are foretold, therein the truth will be denied.
It dwells beneath the lust of lies but there it's nonetheless still real.

The evolution's own solution - time will change our way to see.
